Preparing for government inspections with a site visit
We arrive before the inspector and walk your site along their route. You learn what to fix in advance — not from the inspection report.
When a site visit helps most
- A scheduled or unscheduled inspection is expected
- Your environmental officer has changed, or you have none
- You have received a new permit or your standards have changed
- You want to know the real situation before the inspector does
How the visit works
-
Site walk-through
- point and fugitive emission sources
- condition and passports of dust and gas cleaning units
- waste storage areas and their labelling
- treatment facilities and wastewater outfalls
-
Document check
- environmental permit and emission standards
- PEC programme, logbooks and measurement reports
- waste and equipment passports
- waste transfer contracts
- submitted reports and fee calculations
-
List of non-conformities
- what is wrong, and exactly where
- which requirement is breached
- what it means at an inspection
- what to fix first
-
Help with corrective actions
- revising and restoring documents
- preparing explanations
- a briefing before the inspector arrives
What to prepare before we arrive
The more complete the set, the more precise the list of findings. If something is missing, that is a result too: we note it and tell you how to restore it.
- environmental permit or declaration of environmental impact
- emission and discharge standards projects
- production environmental control programme and logbooks
- waste and dust/gas cleaning unit passports
- waste transfer contracts
- last year's reports
