Five areas and nineteen services under the 2021 Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Where a name has changed, the former one is given too: documents are still often called by it.

Impact assessment and environmental permit

A Category I or II enterprise may not operate without an environmental permit, and the permit rests on standards — how much of what may be emitted, discharged and stored. We calculate these standards, compile the application package and see it through the authorities.

  • Environmental impact assessment EIA

    For planned and reconstructed facilities of any category. We assess how the proposed activity will affect air, water, soil and people, and prepare materials for the state environmental review.

  • Permissible emission standards

    formerly — PDV, maximum permissible emissions

    A project of standards for pollutant emissions to air: source inventory, dispersion modelling, proposed limits for each source. The environmental permit is based on these standards.

  • Permissible discharge standards

    formerly — PDS, maximum permissible discharges

    A project of standards for pollutant discharges with wastewater — into water bodies, onto land, into storage ponds and filtration fields.

  • Waste standards

    formerly — PNRO, waste disposal limits

    Justification of storage and disposal volumes for industrial and consumer waste for the environmental permit.

  • Waste management programme

    How the enterprise reduces, collects, stores and transfers waste: measures, deadlines and targets. Part of the permit application package.

  • Specific water use and wastewater discharge norms

    Calculation of justified water use and wastewater discharge per unit of product or service.

  • Environmental permit

    formerly — emissions permit

    We compile the environmental permit application package and support it through the authorities until the permit is issued.

Inventories and passports

An inventory shows where emissions come from and what they contain; passports describe waste and treatment equipment. Both standards and inspectors rely on these documents.

  • Greenhouse gas emissions inventory

    Accounting of greenhouse gas sources and calculation of emissions — the basis of carbon regulation reporting.

  • Hazardous waste passports

    A passport for each type of hazardous waste: origin, composition, properties, handling requirements.

  • Dust and gas cleaning unit passports

    A passport for a gas cleaning unit: specifications, cleaning efficiency, operating conditions.

Production environmental control, reporting and payments

Operators of Category I and II facilities are required to carry out production environmental control. Its results feed the reports and the calculation of the fee for negative environmental impact.

  • Production environmental control programme PEC

    We develop the programme and help organise monitoring at the enterprise: what, where and how often to measure, who is responsible, how results are recorded.

  • Environmental reporting

    We help prepare reports: 2-TP (air), 2-TP (water), 4-OS, the waste inventory report, PEC reports and reports on the implementation of the environmental action plan.

  • Fee for negative environmental impact

    formerly — emissions fee

    We calculate the fee based on actual emissions, discharges and waste disposal for tax reporting.

Environmental department and ISO 14001

When you have no environmental officer, or just one for the whole enterprise, it makes sense to hand the work to people who have run the environmental department of a major plant.

    If you have no environmental officer, we do their work: documents, deadlines, reporting.

  • Certification audit support

    We prepare the enterprise for the environmental management system audit and support it through the audit.
